Shirley Kelley: Exploring Body/Mind Relatiionships

My work is about being present, about

   noticing and about relationship.
I invite you to engage in a process of
   becoming aware of your present
      patterns of movement
      and ways of shaping yourself.

We are touched in many ways
   through body, mind and spirit.
As we express parts of ourselves
   other parts remain in shadow.
Our choices for expression in each moment
are in part influenced by our level of
   awareness and integration.

Together we explore our
   anatomical relationships.
We investigate our senses and perceptions
   and possible choices for living
   consciously in our bodies.
We move.
We look.  We listen.
   We play.

these approaches into
her work with clients:

Body-Mind Centering®, developed by Bonnnie Bainbridge Cohen, is based on principles of anatomy, physiology, psychology and human development. In this work we find our support before we move. We become aware of current patterns through movement, touch, sounding and verbal dialogue. We explore new possibilities for embodiment.

Somatic Movement Education is about going back and re-building basic sensory/motor relationships that are the foundation for cortical brain activity. We explore senses (vision, hearing, balance, proprioception), perceptions, movement, attention and intention.

Bal-A-Vis-X® is an engaging program of purposeful rhythmic movement requiring full-body coordination and improving one's sense of balance. Originated by Bill Hubert, these rhythmic exercises provide multiple opporunities to cross the three brain/body midlines physically, visually and auditorily enhancing comprehension, organization and communication. The exercises are sequential and build in complexity providing brain nerve-net growth. The skills progress from individual to partner to group/community.

Center for Intentional Living offers the creation of a  psychospiritual therapeutic relationship to provide a safe container for deep body/mind/spirit work.

Together we focus on assisting you in bringing balance to the experience of showing up and of living in your body.
